What about my privacy?

Privacy and confidentiality are a concern anytime someone enters your home.  It may be housekeeping, carpet cleaning, repairs, painting or delivery personnel.  We understand this concern and are sensitive to our client’s wishes.  Before we start any inventory, we take a tour of the home with our client.  At this time we listen to any concerns or issues they may have in any of their rooms or with any of their items.  We respect that each person has a varying comfort level thus we put our clients at ease prior to beginning their inventory.  We also encourage client participation, and we are bonded and insured.  In addition, we sign a confidentiality agreement with you as part of our standard contract.

 

What happens to the information that is recorded?

During the inventory process we capture the details of your personal property in our secure business software.  Following the completion of a home inventory we prepare a comprehensive reporting package which includes detailed reports including pictures.  We offer two key reports: Home Inventory by Location & Home Inventory by Category so that you can easily view your property details.

 

Once you have verified the accuracy of our reports we finalize your inventory and provide you with the following in our comprehensive package:

 

  • Detailed Home Inventory Reports (By Location or Category)

 

  • Protection-Plus Software for viewing home inventory results on your computer.

 

  • Data CD containing data for the Protection Plus software to import and all digital images from your inventory.

 

  • Client Information Package containing the following documents :

1.    Getting the Most out of Insurance Claims

2.    Insurance Do’s & Don’ts

3.    Monthly Home Protection Tips

4.    Protecting Valuables with Photo Records

5.    Home Improvement Payback Tips

6.    Estate Planning Guide

 

We suggest you either store your report in a secure off-site location such as a safe deposit box.

 

How much does a home or business inventory cost?

 Our inventory services are very reasonably priced and an estimate can be given after speaking with you to get the details on the size & contents of your home.  Please contact us for more information.  

 

What if my house is too messy for an inventory?

 Your house does not have to be in perfect order.  The most important thing is that you can see the items.  We’re flexible and will work with you to record the maximum amount of detail for the personal property in your home.

 

I see online storage for home inventories. Do you store the inventories online?

 Although many sites advertise their secure storage of your information, we do not store our information online. There are people out there who can hack into any program. Although these companies do all they can to prevent their site being compromised, we do not feel these are the most secure way to keep your information confidential. We have also found that many people do not feel secure storing their information online. We recommend clients to store their report in a secure off-site location or safety deposit box. 

Can I do the inventory my self?

 

Yes. There is nothing stopping you from doing your own inventory. As you may know, insurance companies recommend that you have a home or business inventory. However, many owners intentions never follow through until it's too late. Either they procrastinate or just do not know where to begin and what to include. Also, we do this professionally and have the methods and documentation process that ensures that your home and business inventory is done effectively and correctly. Another important note is insurance companies like third parties to do the inventory for credibility purposes.

 

What areas do you cover?

  

We are located in the Panhandle of Florida area. We will do inventories located outside of the Panama City Beach area, but any location greater than 50 miles from Panama City Beach may incur additional charges. Does Coastal Assets Inventory do appraisals?

 

No. We do not do appraisals. The amounts we put on the reports are obtained from receipts, independent appraisals and values that the client give us. If you would like something appraised, we recommend doing it before the home inventory is done, but it is not required.

 

 

 

Note: We are not certified appraisers and we will not represent you legally as to the value of your property as REPORTED TO US BY YOU. Your receipts and appraisals are necessary for that aspect. Our assistance will be in the reporting capacity only.
